Beef Croquettes with Cheese

This croquette recipe is ideal for the little ones at home due to its melted cheese filling; you can serve them with salad as part of your weekly menu or prepare them as a snack for family gatherings.

  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the onion, BBQ sauce, garlic powder, mustard, egg, parsley, and season with salt and pepper. Incorporate the breadcrumbs and mix until a manageable consistency is achieved.
  • Take a portion of ground meat and start flattening it with your hands, then gradually hollow out the center to fill with a rectangle of manchego cheese, begin to cover the cheese with the same meat (only if necessary, you can add more meat mixture to fully cover the cheese), shape it into an oval until you have a croquette. Repeat until all the meat is used.
  • Coat the croquettes with flour, dip them in egg, and then cover them with breadcrumbs. Fry in hot vegetable oil for 15 minutes over medium-low heat; drain on paper towels.
  • Serve with thousand islands dressing and green salad.
