  • 2 cups wheat flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 3/4 cups water, warm
  • 1/2 cups Chiapas Cheese, grated
  • vegetable oil, for frying
  • Chiapas Cheese, grated, for decoration
  • whipped cream, for decoration

  • In a bowl, mix the wheat flour, baking powder, sugar, salt, egg, melted butter, warm water, and Chiapas cheese with a spatula until combined and a smooth dough is obtained. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  • Cut small balls of dough and roll them out on a flat surface with a rolling pin until 3 mm thick. Set aside.
  • Heat the oil in a deep enough pot and fry the buñuelos for 1 minute on each side. Place on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  • Serve the buñuelos, decorate with Chiapas cheese, whipped cream, and edible flowers. Enjoy with Concha y Toro® sweet red wine.
