This is undoubtedly one of the simplest snacks I've made, and one of the most successful at gatherings. The chili jam has the perfect balance between sweet and spicy.
Place in the blender or food processor: the chopped chiles, onion, garlic, vinegar, olive oil, clove, salt, pepper, and cinnamon, and set the time and speed needed to blend the ingredients well.
In a skillet, heat the oil on low and pour in the mixture, also adding the piloncillo.
Leave on low heat for 10 minutes or until thickened. Stir constantly.
Place in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator.
Serve over the cheese once it is at room temperature. If desired, you can microwave it for 15-20 seconds to soften the cheese.
Serve with sliced bread or crackers.
