Cheese Triangles with Homemade Sauce

A delicious way to enjoy your favorite cheese in your lunch with a rich homemade red sauce.

  • 500 grams asadero cheese
  • 150 grams whole grain bread crumbs
  • 3 egg whites, beaten
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • 400 grams tomato, 4 pieces
  • spices, basil, pepper, salt, garlic, onion, and bay leaf
  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

  • Cut the cheese into triangular portions about 1 centimeter thick.
  • Place whole wheat breadcrumbs in one container and in another, place the 6 previously beaten egg whites.
  • Soak your cheese triangles in the egg and quickly in the breadcrumbs until fully coated, repeat 2 more times until there are no gaps left to cover.
  • In a pan a bit deeper than your cheese portions, heat 2 cups of olive oil and carefully place your triangles, turning them until you see they are golden on both sides.
  • Let cool on absorbent paper.
  • Cook your tomatoes in boiling water, remove the skins, and place them in the blender along with the 2 teaspoons of oil and your spices (Basil, pepper, salt, garlic, onion, and bay leaf).
  • Place your tomato sauce and its blended ingredients in a small pot and let it boil.
  • Ready, you have your cheese triangles with homemade sauce ready for your lunch.
