With this sopes dough recipe, you can make your own homemade sopes and serve them as a snack, main dish, breakfast, or dinner.

4 cups masa harina
2 1/2 cups water
1/2 teaspoons salt

Mix the maseca, water, and salt. Knead until the dough no longer sticks to your hands.
Divide into 20 portions, take each one, roll into balls, and flatten as if you were making tortillas.
With your fingers, lift the edges of each sope.
Heat a griddle and cook the sopes on each side for about 1 minute or until they are lightly golden.
