Figs Wrapped in Prosciutto

This appetizer is delicious and very simple to prepare, plus it's the best way to balance the salty flavor of the prosciutto. The sweetness of the figs makes the perfect combination, along with the arugula and balsamic vinegar. Prepare them for any event, you'll see how easy they are.

  • 6 figs, large cut into quarters
  • 24 slices prosciutto, thin slices
  • 24 leaves arugula
  • 2 cups balsamic vinegar
  • 1/8 cups sugar
  • 1 pinch salt

  • In a skillet, put the sugar, salt, and balsamic vinegar, stirring with a wooden spoon, let it reduce and thicken.
  • Turn off the heat and set aside.
  • Cut the figs into quarters lengthwise and cover each one with a slice (or half a slice) of prosciutto.
  • Place a arugula leaf on top and secure with a toothpick.
  • Place on a platter and drizzle some of the balsamic reduction on top.
