Potato and Chorizo Quesadillas

These traditional quesadillas filled with potato and chorizo are very easy to prepare and are also very tasty; they will be ready in no time, and you will surprise your family with the flavor of the filling and the crunchy texture of the dough.

  • 500 grams masa dough
  • 1 cup water, as needed
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 cup chorizo
  • 2 cans potato, in cubes Del Monte®
  • 1 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cups lettuce, washed and disinfected. Finely chopped, for decoration
  • 1/2 cups sour cream, (for decoration)
  • 1/2 cups red salsa, Del Monte® (for decoration)
  • 1/2 cups panela cheese, grated (for decoration)

  • For the dough, knead the corn dough with a little water as needed and combine with baking powder, salt, and pepper. Set aside.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, fry the chorizo for 5 minutes. Add the Del Monte diced potatoes and cook for a few more minutes until they take on color. Set aside.
  • Make medium-sized dough balls and flatten them with a board until you get a tortilla. Fill with the potato and chorizo mixture and close.
  • In a small pot, heat the oil over high heat and fry the quesadillas on both sides until golden brown. Drain and place on paper towels.
  • Open the quesadillas and decorate with lettuce, cream, Del Monte® salsa, and cheese.
