Oaxacan Tlayuda

This is a typical dish from Oaxaca, you can make the Oaxacan tlayuda with the ingredients you like the most, whether it's chorizo, meat, chicken, or simply with Oaxaca cheese.

  • 1 cup black beans
  • 1/4 cups lard
  • 1 cup cabbage, or lettuce
  • 250 grams Oaxaca cheese
  • 2 tomatoes
  • 2 serrano chiles
  • 1 avocado
  • 1 radish
  • 2 corn tortillas, tlayudas

  • Heat the corn tortillas on a griddle or in a skillet.
  • Spread the lard and then spread the black beans (heated in a skillet).
  • Sprinkle the cabbage over the entire tlayuda and then crumble the Oaxaca cheese and add it to the tlayuda.
  • Chop the tomato, green chili, avocado, and radish and add them to the tlayuda.
  • Serve hot.
