Onion Dip Recipe

  • 2 onions, large
  • 1/4 cups Kikkoman® traditionally brewed soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons raw sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3/4 cups cream cheese, soft
  • 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoons white pepper
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • Kikkoman® traditionally brewed soy sauce
  • 1/2 cups green onion stalks, chopped

  • Heat a pot over medium-low heat and add the butter, onion, brown sugar, and Kikkoman® Soy Sauce. Stir constantly until the volume has reduced by 75% and the color turns deep brown. Remove from heat and set aside. Let cool to room temperature.
  • Place the caramelized onions, sour cream, cream cheese, garlic powder, white pepper, and onion powder in a bowl and mix perfectly with a spatula. Season with a little Kikkoman® Soy Sauce and add the chopped green onion tops.
  • Serve the onion dip in a bowl, sprinkle with chopped green onion tops and sesame seeds, and accompany with potato chips and toasted bread.
