Paneer Cheese with Oregano

This paneer cheese with oregano is a great snack that's easy to prepare and can be made a day in advance.

  • 1/2 kilos panela cheese, fresh cheese
  • 1 clove garlic, mashed
  • 1/3 cups olive oil
  • 1/4 cups corn oil
  • 2 tablespoons oregano, ground
  • 1 teaspoon dried chile, chili pepper

  • Preheat the oven to 180 degrees C (350 F).
  • Place the paneer cheese in a baking dish. Mash the cheese with a fork.
  • In a bowl, mix the grated garlic, olive oil, corn oil, oregano, and crushed dried chili. Pour the mixture over the cheese and refrigerate for at least 4 hours. Baste the cheese with the mixture every hour. (Ideally, refrigerate it overnight).
  • Put the cheese in the oven for 15 minutes or until it is slightly soft.
  • Serve with crackers or pita bread.
