Potato Sticks with Cheese

These potato sticks with cheese make a great snack for kids. The best part is that you can use leftover mashed potatoes from another day.

  • 400 grams mashed potato
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, grated
  • 1/2 teaspoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten
  • few flour
  • few cow's milk
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds

  • Preheat the oven to 200ºC.
  • Combine in a bowl the potato, cheese, cilantro, and yolk.
  • Lightly flour the surface where you will be working (make sure it's clean) and roll the potato mixture into sticks that are 2 centimeters wide. Cut these sticks lengthwise to the size of a finger.
  • Using a brush, coat the sticks with milk and bread them with sesame seeds; you can use other seeds if you prefer.
  • Place the sticks on a baking tray with a little oil and bake for 10 minutes until they are golden and crispy.
