For the glaze, in a small saucepan, heat the Smucker's® Cherry Jam with the orange juice and pepper for 10 minutes over medium heat, until the ingredients dissolve and combine.
Preheat the oven to 170 °C.
Arrange the bacon on a baking tray, brush with the glaze, and bake for approximately 15 minutes; if necessary, brush again with the glaze while the bacon is still in the oven. Once the bacon is golden and crispy, remove from the oven and set aside.
Take advantage of the oven's heat to toast the bread: on one of the slices, place the bacon and cheddar cheese and broil. Remove.
Assemble the sandwich: on the free slice, spread the mayonnaise and mustard (top slice); use the other slice as the base and add the lettuce, bacon, tomato, and avocado; season the vegetables with salt and pepper if necessary; close the sandwich with the other slice.
Cut the sandwich in half, serve, and accompany with chips and pickles.
