Snail Egg Sandwich

Surprise your kids this back-to-school season with this original and fun snail egg sandwich! A tasty egg roll with ham and cheese in the shape of a snail, accompanied by green leaves to simulate the grass, will delight your little one.

  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 teaspoons Great Value® plain salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons pepper
  • 1 tablespoon fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 4 tablespoons Great Value® oil
  • 8 slices sandwich bread, without edges
  • 4 tablespoons cream cheese
  • 8 slices turkey deli ham
  • 8 slices Extra Special® mozzarella cheese
  • 2 sausages, cut in half lengthwise
  • 8 cloves, to simulate the eyes
  • 1/4 carrots, in strips, to simulate the antennas
  • 1 cup spinach, cut into strips, for decoration

  • In a bowl, beat the eggs and season with salt, pepper, and chives.
  • Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat, add a teaspoon of oil and a bit of beaten egg. Form an omelette and cook for about 5 minutes or until cooked on both sides. Repeat to make 4 omelettes.
  • Using a rolling pin, flatten the slices of bread and spread a tablespoon of cream cheese on two slices, joining them by the edges. Repeat with all the bread.
  • Place an omelette on the bread with cheese, add ham and Extra Special® mozzarella cheese. Trim the excess and carefully roll it up.
  • Place the cloves in the sausages to simulate the snail's eyes and the carrots to simulate the antennas. Stick the egg rolls with a bit of cream cheese. Serve with chopped spinach to simulate the grass. Buy HERE
