You will be taken back to your childhood with these mini sausage skewers with cheese and a slightly spicy batter; it will be impossible to resist! Enjoy this skewer recipe with Salsa Huichol® Botanas seasoned with spices and chiles from the Mesa del Nayar.
2 tablespoons butter, melted, for the batter mixture
1/4 cups Huichol® Sauce Snacks, for the batter mixture (355 ml)
1/2 cups sparkling water, for the batter mixture
vegetable oil, for frying

On a cutting board, cut the sausages in half, then, using a skewer, insert a piece of sausage, a cube of cheese, and finally the sausage. Set aside.
Mix the pancake mix, egg, butter, Salsa Huichol® Botanas, and sparkling water in a bowl. Whisk until you have a smooth and homogeneous batter for the skewers. Pour the mixture into a tall glass and set aside.
Heat oil over medium heat in a pot. Once it is very hot, dip the sausage skewers into the previous batter, remove the excess batter, and fry in the oil for 3 minutes, or until the sausage skewers are lightly golden. Place on absorbent paper to remove excess oil and set aside.
Serve the sausage skewers with cheese on a large plate and accompany with Salsa Huichol® Botanas.
