Pickled Sausages

These sausages were prepared by my grandfather on weekends for family gatherings. They are a bit spicy, but with the warmth of conversations and celebrations, they are a true delicacy.

  • 500 grams sausages
  • 1/2 onions, medium 1/2 onions, medium
  • 200 grams pickled chiles
  • 1/2 tablespoons dried oregano
  • 4 tablespoons vegetable oil 4 tablespoons vegetable oil

  • saltine crackers, for accompaniment

  • In a skillet, heat 4 tablespoons of oil to sauté the onions for 3 minutes.
  • When the onion is transparent, pour in the sausages. Fry for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Add the pickled chiles and continue cooking for 2 more minutes.
  • Sprinkle the oregano over the entire preparation (at this point, add a pinch of salt if desired)
  • Stir evenly so that the oregano incorporates into all the sausages and remove from heat.
  • Serve hot, accompanied by crackers.
