Stuffed Zucchini Flower with Cheese

This delicious snack consists of battered and fried zucchini flowers stuffed with Oaxaca cheese. It is a very rich and original snack.

  • 30 pumpkin flowers, fresh
  • 250 grams Oaxaca cheese
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/4 cups vegetable oil
  • pepper, to taste

  • Clean the zucchini flowers by removing the stamen from the center.
  • Fill each flower with a little shredded Oaxaca cheese.
  • Place the lightly beaten egg with 2-3 tablespoons of water in a shallow plate and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place the flour in another shallow plate and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat; when hot, dip each flower first in the egg, then in the flour, and then fry in the oil for 2 minutes on each side, or until the cheese is melted and the flower is golden.
  • Remove the flower from the oil and place it on a paper towel, repeat with all the flowers.
