Veracruz Picaditas

These Veracruz picaditas will leave you craving more with their flavor; golden brown and accompanied by a little red sauce, they will be the perfect snack to enjoy with your family.

  • 4 Roma tomatoes
  • 3 serrano chiles
  • 1 cube Knorr® granulated chicken bouillon
  • 1/2 cups vegetable oil
  • 500 grams masa dough
  • 1 cup añejo cheese, crumbled
  • 1 white onion

  • Roast the tomatoes and chiles on a griddle or skillet until well charred on all sides.
  • Pound the tomatoes and chiles in a molcajete until you have a uniform consistency.
  • Add the tablespoon of Knorr® Suiza Chicken Broth, mix, and set aside.
  • Heat 1 tablespoon of oil and sauté the sauce for 5 minutes over medium heat. Set aside.
  • Divide the dough into 20 balls and form the tortillas with the help of a tortilla press.
  • Cook the tortillas on a griddle on both sides and pinch the edge to form a small sope.
  • Heat the oil and fry the tortillas, draining them on paper towels.
  • Spread a little sauce on each tortilla and sprinkle with cheese and onion at the moment of serving.
