Ceviche de Sierra

Ceviche de sierra is an easy and quick dish to prepare and very convenient to take in any container, which is why I recommend it for a Sunday at the beach with friends or family, although it is also delicious to eat at home.

  • In a good-sized container, place the ground sierra and season with enough salt and pepper. Add the juice of the limes and the oregano and mix very well.
  • Let the fish marinate for 10 to 15 minutes so that it is well cured. When the fish is well cured (it turns whiter), you can either strain it to remove the excess lime or, if you like a juicy ceviche, you can leave the juice. The fish has already absorbed all the flavor of the lime, salt, and oregano, so it is a matter of taste and preference whether to leave it with the lime or strain it.
  • Add the chili, red onion, cucumber, tomato, and cilantro, and mix everything very well.
  • It can be accompanied with toasted bread spread with mayonnaise, with tortilla chips, or as I mentioned in the introduction, with the large duros of pork cracklings sold in candy stores. Delicious with bottle sauce.
