Devil Shrimp for Lent

This Lent season, treat yourself to these delicious devil shrimp that you'll love. They have a combination of guajillo chili, chipotle pepper, and árbol chili that make them extremely spicy. Perfect for spicy food lovers!

  • 8 guajillo chiles, deveined
  • 3 árbol chiles
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1/4 onions
  • 2 chipotle chiles in adobo sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Special Olive Oil®
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, finely chopped
  • 1 pinch Great Value® plain salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 2 tablespoons Extra Special Olive Oil®
  • 4 cups medium-sized shrimp, clean
  • 1/2 teaspoons Great Value® plain salt
  • 1/4 teaspoons pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, finely chopped

  • Boil water in a small pot over medium heat. Remove from heat and soak the guajillo and árbol chiles for 5 minutes or until softened.
  • Blend the chiles with the garlic, onion, chipotle pepper, and a little of the soaking liquid from the chiles.
  • In a small pot over medium heat, melt the butter and oil. Fry the onion until transparent and add the tomato. Add the sauce and cook for about 10 minutes until it thickens. Season with salt and pepper.
  • In a deep skillet over medium heat, fry the shrimp with olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Add the sauce and mix very well. Cook for 5 more minutes and finish with chopped cilantro. Buy HERE
