Onofre Sardines

Canned sardines can be a lifesaver, and this is a different way to enjoy them, very much in the Mexican style.

  • 1 can sardine, in tomato
  • 1/4 onions, finely chopped
  • 2 Jalapeño chiles, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons epazote, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 1 tomato, chopped
  • vegetable oil

  • Separate the sardines from the broth, set aside.
  • Fry the onion, tomato, and chiles, add the sardines and let them fry very well. Once the ingredients are well combined, add the sardine broth.
  • Let it boil and finally add the epazote; don’t forget to adjust the flavor and add salt and pepper if necessary.
