Floured fish strips

The floured fish strips are an ideal dish for those who enjoy fried food but without too much grease.

  • 1 kilo saw fish, in strips, boneless
  • 2 eggs, whole
  • 4 tablespoons sunflower oil
  • 2 cups beer, (or a can of beer)
  • 1 tablespoon granulated chicken bouillon
  • 3 cups wheat flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • lime juice, from 5 pieces, seedless
  • 500 milliliters sunflower oil

  • In a bowl, all the ingredients are added and mixed with a whisk until a smooth and lump-free mixture is achieved.
  • The fish is placed in a baking dish and marinated with salt and lime juice for about 20 minutes in the refrigerator, covered with plastic wrap.
  • After the marinating time, the fish is drained in a large colander over the sink.
  • A deep skillet is placed over heat with 500 milliliters of sunflower oil.
  • When the oil is very hot, we immerse the fish strips one by one into the flour mixture that we prepared earlier. They can also be fried three at a time.
  • The strips are removed from the oil when the batter covering the fish is lightly golden; it is important to avoid burning them.
  • They are placed on absorbent paper or a large piece of metal to drain.
