Fried Shrimp with Spicy Sauce

This shrimp recipe is breaded and fried and finally stirred into a spicy mayonnaise sauce. Very tasty as a snack!

  • 1/4 cups vegetable oil, to fry
  • 2 eggs
  • 3/4 cups flour
  • 1/2 cups cornstarch
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 750 grams shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cups mayonnaise
  • 1 tablespoon Sriracha sauce, or chipotle sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey

  • Prepare the sauce: mix the mayonnaise, sauce, honey, 1/4 teaspoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of water. Stir and reserve.
  • Prepare the shrimp, heat in a saucepan like 5 cms of vegetable oil over medium heat until a thermometer registers 180 degrees.
  • Stir the eggs in a deep dish.
  • Stir the flour, cornstarch and 1 teaspoon of salt and pepper.
  • Pass the shrimp first through the flour mixture, then through the egg mixture and return to the flour mixture once more.
  • Fry the shrimp in the oil until golden brown, between 1-2 minutes. Put on kitchen napkins to absorb extra fat.
  • Pass the shrimp through the prepared hot sauce and serve on a bed of lettuce.
