Gabardina Fillets

This recipe is from my mom, and it is delicious; you will love it for this Lent.

  • 190 milliliters ale beer
  • 1/2 kilos flour
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch baking soda
  • 1 pinch white pepper
  • 1 pinch granulated chicken bouillon
  • red snapper fillets
  • vegetable oil

  • Mix all the ingredients with a whisk in a bowl.
  • The fillet is cut into long strips; I recommend red snapper or dorado, but I'll leave it to your choice.
  • In a frying pan or tall container, pour in the oil and let it heat without burning.
  • Take one of the fillets, dip it in the mixture, and place it directly into the oil; when it starts to brown on one side, turn it to cook evenly.
  • Drain well or use a paper towel to remove excess oil, do the same with the other fillets; if the batter runs out, prepare more.
