Lemon Mussels

Delicious and fresh lemon mussels for a snack. Served in its shell it makes them look very gourmet.

  • 12 mussels, well washed
  • 1 lime
  • 1 sprig celery, finely chopped
  • 1 Roma tomato
  • 12 leaves basil
  • 1 green onion, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • pepper

  • Put the washed and drained mussels in a saucepan with boiling salted water for 3 minutes. Take them out and remove the top cap from each one.
  • Detach the mussel from the shell and put it back in place. This way it will be easier to eat them. Reserve on a platter.
  • Cut 2 thin slices of the lemon and cut them into triangular pieces. The rest of the lemon squeeze it.
  • Stir the chopped celery with the diced tomato, the chopped basil and the finely chopped onion.
  • Add the lemon juice, oil, salt and pepper and stir. Put about a tablespoon of this mixture on each mussel and decorate with a lemon wedge.
