Garlic Octopus

This way of preparing octopus is delicious, as it infuses the seafood with the rich golden flavor of garlic. It is perfect to accompany with rice or with the tasty red onions.

  • 200 grams octopus, cut into pieces, clean.
  • 4 limes, only the juice
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 12 cloves garlic, peeled and sliced
  • 1 cup olive oil
  • salt
  • 4 cups red onion
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 4 allspice berries
  • 1 pinch salt

  • Cook the cleaned octopus pieces until tender. Cooking time can vary from 15 to 30 minutes; be careful not to make them tough.
  • Drain the octopus pieces and remove the skin if necessary. Soak them in lemon juice with garlic, salt, and pepper for 15 minutes.
  • Sauté sliced garlic in hot oil, add the octopus pieces, and fry the preparation. Serve.
  • For the red onion: Soak the onion for 10 minutes in boiling water.
  • Drain and add the juice of the sour orange, allspice, and salt to taste.
  • Let rest for at least 15 minutes, warm up, and serve with the octopus.
