Shrimp in Creole Sauce

  • Wash, peel, and devein the shrimp.
  • In a pan, melt butter, pour in the shrimp, and let them color for 3 minutes and set aside.
  • In a pan, pour the tequila, and immediately bring it to a boil and pour it over the shrimp.
  • In a pot, heat the oil, fry the onion, add the garlic, peppers, and chilies, pour in the tomatoes, oregano, salt, pepper, and bay leaf.
  • Cover and let it boil for a few minutes, now add the sprig of thyme and let it simmer until the sauce is somewhat thick.
  • Pour the shrimp into the boiling sauce, add the cilantro, and wait for it to boil again for 3 to 5 minutes.
