Shrimp with Tamarind Sauce

This recipe is delicious and super easy. The tamarind syrup you can find at any self-service.

  • 400 grams jumbo shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup tamarind syrup, or sauce
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1/2 onions, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 10 heads green onion
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • pepper

  • In a pan heat over medium heat 4-5 tablespoons oil and brown the onion for 2 minutes or until translucent.
  • Add the garlic and ginger and brown for 1 minute more. Add the onions and mix.
  • Finally add the shrimp and cook for 2 minutes.
  • On the other hand, mix the tamarind syrup with the sugar and season with salt and pepper. Pour the sauce over the shrimp and cook for 2-3 more minutes, making sure to overcook the shrimp.
