Governor Tacos Recipe

Enjoy the traditional governor tacos! This 100% Sinaloan dish is served with green salsa and Sidral Mundet® Apple flavor.

  • vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, medium
  • 1 clove garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups Poblano chile strips
  • 1 stalk celery, finely chopped
  • 3 cups shrimp, peeled, cleaned, and deveined
  • salt
  • pepper
  • 10 corn tortillas
  • 2 cups Manchego cheese, grated
  • lime
  • green salsa, for garnish

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat, pour in some oil, and sauté the onion, garlic, and celery for 3 minutes; add the strips of poblano pepper and cook for 5 more minutes. Add the shrimp and season with salt and pepper; cook for 5 minutes until the shrimp change color. Remove from heat.
  • Heat the tortillas in a skillet or griddle on low heat, add the cheese, and melt for 2 minutes. Add the shrimp mixture, fold the tacos, and remove from heat.
  • Serve the tacos hot with your preferred salsa and accompany with Sidral Mundet® Apple flavor.
