Seafood Cakes (Eomuk)

Eomuk - 어묵 is a delicious Korean recipe that can be served with your favorite dishes (especially sauces).

  • 1 cod
  • 6 large shrimp
  • 1 squid
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil, grape seed oil (or your preferred oil)
  • 1/2 tablespoons white pepper
  • 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 cups cornstarch, potato starch
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/5 onions

  • Remove the shell and the digestive system (the black thread) from the shrimp and then clean them with water. Cut the cod into 12 pieces. Finely chop the squid's head, remove the innards, and cut the eye part. Wash everything and add to the blender.
  • Heat oil in a pot and add all the other ingredients to the blender.
  • Once well blended, shape the mixture into figures. You can make anything from small balls to skewers. Fry in the pot and make sure the portions are spaced far enough apart.
