Teriyaki Fish

This fish recipe is an ideal and healthy preparation for a delicious meal. You can make it easy and quick. The teriyaki sauce is characteristic of Japan and you can customize it to your liking.

  • 3 tablespoons Oli de Nutrioli® extra virgin olive oil, for the teriyaki sauce
  • 1 garlic, finely filleted, for the teriyaki sauce
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, finely filleted, for the teriyaki sauce
  • 1 cup raw sugar, for the teriyaki sauce
  • 1/2 cups soy sauce, for the teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cups rice vinegar, for the teriyaki sauce
  • 1/4 cups mirin (sweet rice wine), for the teriyaki sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chile flakes, for the teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tilapia fillets
  • 4 cups vegetables, such as broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, or turnip lightly cooked in salted water
  • 2 cups rice, steamed to accompany
  • chile flakes, for garnish
  • green onion, filleted, including the stems, for garnish

  • Heat a pan over medium heat, pour in Nutrioli® extra virgin Olive Oil, add garlic, ginger, brown sugar, and cook for 3 minutes; add soy sauce, rice vinegar, mirin, and chili flakes, let reduce until the sauce thickens, for about 5 minutes. Set aside.
  • Heat another pan over medium heat with Nutrioli® extra virgin Olive Oil and sear the fish on both sides, remember to season beforehand with salt and pepper; lower the heat and cover the pan. Cook for 5 minutes, remove from heat and set aside.
  • On a plate, serve a bed of vegetables, on top the fish and pour the teriyaki sauce; garnish with sesame seeds, chili flakes, green onion and serve with steamed rice.
