Tuna Sushi

The sushi can be served as a snack or as a main dish. It is a very healthy dish based on boiled rice, seaweed and its filling can consist of fish, seafood and many other ingredients.

  • 4 cups sushi rice
  • 4 leaves nori, cut in half
  • 250 grams tuna
  • 1/2 cups ginger for sushi
  • 2 tablespoons wasabi
  • 1 cucumber, peeled, seedless and julienned
  • 2 carrots, in juliana

  • Take a tablecloth to make sushi and on it put a sheet of seaweed, with the shiny side of the seaweed looking towards the tablecloth.
  • Moisten your hands with cold water and take 3/4 cup of rice, sprinkle over the seaweed leaving a 1 centimeter edge on the opposite side of the chef.
  • Put 1/4 teaspoon of wasabi on the rice in a horizontal line about 4 centimeters from the chef.
  • On the wasabi put 1 or 2 strips of fresh tuna. 2 strips of cucumber and 2 strips of carrot.
  • Starting with the edge closest to you, lift the sushi tablecloth with your thumbs, hold the stuffing in place with your fingers, and fold the tablecloth over the stuffing, so that the top and bottom edges of the rice meet. Squeeze gently but firmly along the length of the roll and pull the top edge of the tablecloth away from you to tighten. Repeat to form remaining rolls.
  • To cut the roll soak a very sharp knife in water and cut the roll first in half, and then each half in 3 pieces.
