Tuna and Cheese Empanadas

  • 3 cups flour, for the dough
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, for the dough
  • 1/2 tablespoons salt, for the dough
  • 1/4 cups vegetable oil, for the dough
  • 1 cup water, for the dough
  • 3 envelopes Tuna with Mayonnaise Herdez®, for the filling (85 g each)
  • 1/2 cups Manchego cheese, diced
  • 1/4 cups corn kernels, yellow
  • 1/4 cups white onion, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cups tomato, diced
  • 3 tablespoons parsley, finely chopped

  • For the dough, in a bowl, pour the flour and with a smaller bowl, make a well in the middle by pressing slightly; in the center, add the sugar, vegetable oil, and water; with the help of a spoon, mix until combined. Place the dough on a clean surface and start kneading until smooth and homogeneous. Let it rest for 20 minutes.
  • For the filling, mix the Tuna with Herdez® Mayonnaise, cheese, corn, onion, tomato, and parsley. Set aside.
  • On a floured surface, roll out the dough with the help of a rolling pin until it has a thickness of approximately 5 mm. Cut circles with a diameter of 12 cm.
  • Place the filling on the dough and with the help of your hands, pinch and twist the edges to braid and seal the empanadas.
  • In a pot, heat the oil over medium heat and fry the empanadas until they turn a golden color. Place on absorbent paper to remove excess oil.
  • With the help of a knife, open the empanada, place slices of avocado, and accompany with hot sauce.
