Tuna Cocktail

For hot days there is nothing better than eating something fresh and nutritious. This Tuna Cocktail has a light smoked touch that softens the characteristic fishy flavor. My children do not like the strong taste of fish and with this recipe I found out how perfect it is to include something as essential as tuna in your diet.

  • 1 onion, medium bite
  • 4 carrots, chopped
  • 2 cucumbers, peeled, chopped and seedless
  • 4 serrano chiles, chopped
  • 4 cans canned tuna
  • 4 cans tuna, with chipotle
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/3 cups olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons seasoning sauce, low in sodium
  • salt, and pepper to taste
  • saltine crackers
  • 12 limes

  • Put the chopped onion in a bowl, add the juice of the lemons, salt to taste and let marinate.
  • After 5 minutes add the chopped carrot and mix.
  • Add the chopped cucumber and continue mixing.
  • Add the chopped serrano pepper to taste (if you want to lower the itch remove the veins and seeds).
  • Drain the 4 cans of Tuna Dolores in oil, empty the bowl and mix.
  • Drain the 4 cans of Tuna Dolores with chipotle, empty the bowl and mix until they are incorporated with all the ingredients.
  • Add the chopped coriander, pepper to taste, keep stirring.
  • Empty the cocktail seasoning juice to taste and a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Mix all the ingredients well and check the amount of lemon, salt and chili to the taste of the guests. Refrigerate.
  • Serve with crackers.
