Tuna Cocktail

For hot days, there's nothing better than eating something fresh and nutritious. This Tuna Cocktail has a slight smoky touch that softens the characteristic fish flavor. My kids don't like the strong flavor of fish, and with this recipe, I found out how perfect it is to include something as essential as tuna in their diet.

  • 1 onion, medium chopped
  • 4 carrots, chopped
  • 2 cucumbers, peeled, chopped, and seedless
  • 4 serrano chiles, chopped
  • 4 cans canned tuna
  • 4 cans tuna, with chipotle
  • 1 bunch fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/3 cups olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons seasoning sauce, low in sodium
  • salt , and pepper to taste
  • saltine crackers

  • Place the chopped onion in a bowl, add the juice of the lemons, salt to taste, and let marinate.
  • After 5 minutes, add the chopped carrot and mix.
  • Add the chopped cucumber and continue mixing.
  • Incorporate the chopped serrano chili to taste (if you want to reduce the spiciness, remove the veins and seeds).
  • Drain the 4 cans of Dolores Tuna in oil, empty into the bowl, and mix.
  • Drain the 4 cans of Dolores Tuna with chipotle, empty into the bowl, and mix until incorporated with all the ingredients.
  • Add the chopped cilantro, pepper to taste, and continue stirring.
  • Pour the seasoning juice to taste into the cocktail and a drizzle of olive oil.
  • Mix all the ingredients well and check the amount of lemon, salt, and chili to taste of the diners. Refrigerate.
  • Serve accompanied by crackers.
