Tuna Empanadas with Chipotle

Prepare these delicious tuna empanadas, with a delicious spicy twist chilpotle flavor, very soft inside and crispy on the outside, accompanied by avocado, mayonnaise and lemon. They are ideal for eating as a snack.

  • 300 grams tuna, diced
  • 1 cup Del Fuerte® tomato purée with chipotle chile
  • 1/4 onions, finely chopped
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 cups flour, for the mass
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, for the mass
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt, for the mass
  • 1/4 cups vegetable oil, for the mass
  • 1 cup water, for the mass
  • flour, to extend

  • In a bowl place the tuna, add the Tomato Puree with Chilpotle Del Fuerte®. Add the onion and season with salt and pepper.
  • For the dough: in a bowl mix the flour with the sugar, the salt, and the oil. Knead until well blended, add the water until it is soft and smooth. Let stand 20 minutes.
  • Spread the dough on a floured surface and cut circles of 10 cm in diameter, add the tuna filling, close the tarnish with the help of your fingers pressing.
  • Heat the oil over medium heat, fry the empanadas until golden brown.
  • Serve with slices of avocado, cilantro, mayonnaise and lemons.
