Cheese Nuggets

These cheese nuggets are perfect for kids, as they are easy to prepare and the whole family can enjoy them. This meatless nugget recipe is a different option for lunch or as a snack; they will love them!

  • 500 grams Manchego cheese, shredded, for the nuggets
  • 1/2 cups cornstarch, for the nuggets
  • 1 egg, for the nuggets
  • 1 cup cornstarch, for breading
  • 3 eggs, mixed with ½ cup of milk, for breading
  • 1 cup panko, for breading
  • 1/2 cups Smucker's® apricot jam, for the dip
  • 1/2 cups sour cream, for the dip
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted, for the dip
  • 1/2 teaspoons lime zest, for the dip
  • 1/4 teaspoons rosemary, powdered, for the dip
  • salt, for the dip

  • French fries, for serving
  • parsley, finely chopped, for garnish

  • Mix the cheese, cornstarch, and egg in a bowl until all ingredients are fully combined. Then, use an ice cream scoop or a spoon to form balls, place them on a tray, and shape them into nuggets. Freeze for 30 minutes.
  • While the nuggets are freezing, prepare the dip: mix Smucker's® apricot jam, sour cream, butter, lemon zest, powdered rosemary, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Refrigerate until use.
  • Once the freezing time has elapsed, coat the cheese nuggets with cornstarch, then dip them in the egg mixed with milk, and finally coat them in panko.
  • Heat a deep skillet with plenty of oil and fry the nuggets for about 3 minutes, until they are golden and crispy.
  • Serve the cheese nuggets hot and accompany with the dip and french fries.
