Pass the balls through the beaten egg and then through the breadcrumbs. Repeat this step until you achieve the thickness you prefer.
Heat enough oil and fry the nuggets until golden brown on each side, being careful not to burn them.
For the marinara sauce: Blend the tomato, garlic, onion, and basil and let it reduce over the heat until it forms a paste.
Place it on a small plate for your kids to dip their nuggets.
