Ground Meat Rolls

Delicious recipe to healthily feed children at parties. Crispy puff pastry rolls filled with ground meat; perfect for a complete meal for kids.

  • 400 grams ground meat, or beef according to preference
  • 500 grams puff pastry, refrigerated
  • 1 egg
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 200 grams pumpkin purée
  • 1 tablespoon lime zest
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • salt, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C and prepare the baking tray.
  • Mix the meat with salt and pepper, lemon zest, and the tablespoon of mustard.
  • Heat the oil in a skillet and add the onions.
  • When the onion is almost translucent, add the meat. When the meat is half cooked, add the pumpkin puree (the puree is made by cooking the pumpkin until soft and then blending it with 80 ml of milk), let it cook for about 3 to 5 minutes and remove from heat.
  • Roll out the puff pastry and divide it vertically into 2 parts, place the filling in the middle of each puff pastry piece, brush one edge with egg, and join the ends to form a roll.
  • Place the rolls on each tray with the seam side down, brush with egg, and cut into 12 portions.
  • Put the tray in the oven for 20 minutes or until the puff pastry is golden.
  • They can be served with tomato sauce, mayonnaise, or mustard.
