On a flat surface, make a volcano with the kilogram of flour, creating a hole in the middle to put in the sugar, salt, yeast, and butter. Gradually add the water, mixing everything until you have a smooth dough that doesn't stick to your hands.
Let rest in a warm place and cover with a napkin for one hour.
For the sauce: blend the tomatoes with half an onion and the 2 garlic cloves with 1/2 cup of water, chop the remaining onion into small cubes. Also chop the basil, and sauté the diced onion in a pan until it becomes translucent, then pour the blended mixture into the pan. Season with thyme, basil, salt, and pepper. Let it simmer for 20 minutes on low heat.
Chop the mushroom and sausage into slices, also grate the cheese and set aside.
