Grandfather's Recipe

  • 3 nopales, cleaned and chopped
  • 5 slices turkey deli ham
  • 2 tomatoes, boy
  • 1/4 cups onion
  • 1 Jalapeño chile
  • 1/2 cups dried meat, shredded gluten
  • 1 clove ground garlic
  • salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 4 pieces egg white
  • 1 cup tomato purée
  • 1/2 cups water

  • Chop the ham, chili, onion, and tomato. Set aside
  • Heat a skillet and add the oil, incorporate the ham and chopped vegetables, season with salt and garlic to taste.
  • Add the tomato puree and water, cover so that the nopal cooks. Let it cook for 15 minutes over medium heat.
  • Incorporate the shredded meat.
  • Once the nopal is cooked, add the egg whites and stir until well combined.
