Grilled Panela Cheese with Dried Herbs

Recipe for grilled panela cheese with dried herbs, ideal for small gatherings, it can be served as an appetizer or snack.

  • 200 grams panela cheese
  • 4 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 pinches dried basil
  • 2 pinches dried oregano
  • 2 pinches cumin, dried
  • 2 pinches parsley, dried
  • 2 pinches fresh cilantro, dried
  • 2 pinches chives, dried
  • 2 pinches epazote, dried
  • salt, and pepper to taste

  • On a plate, place the panela cheese and add a pinch of each of the dried herbs, season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Heat a skillet over high heat with 2 tablespoons of olive oil, when hot, place the cheese upside down, making sure the herbs are in contact with the skillet, cook for 5 minutes.
  • While the cheese is grilling, on the white side, add the remaining herbs and season again with salt and pepper.
  • When the crust of the cheese is ready, flip it over and grill for 5 minutes, if oil is lacking, add the remaining 2 tablespoons, then remove from heat.
