We start by placing one liter of milk in a small pot and heating it over low heat until it reaches a temperature that allows you to insert a finger for 5 seconds without burning yourself. At that moment, we remove the milk from the heat and quickly incorporate the portion of yogurt. If we want a creamier and thicker consistency, we can add a tablespoon of powdered milk.
We transfer this mixture to a suitable container that has a lid and an airtight seal.
We will leave our homemade yogurt there, covered with a cloth in a warm and dry place, for approximately one day.
After this time, we move the product to the refrigerator, reserving a portion separately to use the next time we make our own homemade yogurt. The shelf life is 10 to 15 days.
