Cheese-Filled Meatloaf

This meatloaf recipe is extra delicious because it is filled with cheese and covered with a sweet sauce flavored with French’s® Worcestershire Sauce. You can enjoy it any day of the week, at lunchtime, or prepare it for special occasions with family or friends.

  • 3 tablespoons butter, in cubes, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped, for the sauce
  • 1 1/2 cups meat drippings, for the sauce
  • 1/4 cups French's® English Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey, for the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch, diluted in water, for the sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground, for the sauce
  • 3 cups ground meat, beef
  • 1 cup onion, finely chopped, for the meat
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped, for the meat
  • 1 cup red bell pepper, in small cubes, for the meat
  • 3/4 cups breadcrumbs, for the meat
  • 1 egg, for the meat
  • 2 tablespoons paprika, for the meat
  • 1 tablespoon oregano, for the meat
  • 1/4 cups parsley, finely chopped, for the meat
  • 3 tablespoons French's® English Sauce

  • 2 cups Manchego cheese, sliced, grated

  • For the sauce, in a deep skillet, melt the butter and cook the garlic until it begins to shine. Pour in the beef juice, French’s® Worcestershire Sauce, honey, cornstarch diluted in water, and pepper, whisking until combined, and cook over medium-low heat for 8 minutes. Keep warm.
  • In a bowl, mix the ground beef with the onion, garlic, red bell pepper, breadcrumbs, egg, paprika, oregano, parsley, and French’s® Worcestershire Sauce; season with salt and pepper; mix until you have a manageable mixture.
  • Preheat the oven to 200 °C.
  • Place a sheet of aluminum foil on a baking tray, spread the meat mixture over the foil using your hands, place slices of manchego cheese on top, and roll it up using the foil. Press to compact.
  • Bake the meatloaf for 30 minutes at 200 °C. Remove from the oven, take off the aluminum foil, pour the sauce you prepared over it, and return to bake for 15 more minutes.
  • Slice the meatloaf, serve with more sauce, garnish with fresh oregano, and pair with roasted vegetables.
