Chilaquiles in Pasilla Sauce

Nothing beats making chilaquiles at home, and these turn out spectacular with pasilla sauce; they are super easy to prepare, delight your whole family with this treat.

  • 2 tomatoes, cut into quarters
  • 1/4 onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 3 pasilla chiles
  • 1 cube Knorr Tomate® tomato bouillon
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 6 cups tortilla chips
  • 1/2 onions, sliced into rings
  • 4 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

  • Boil the tomato, onion, garlic, and chiles in enough water for 10 minutes or until the tomatoes are soft.
  • Blend the above with 1 cup of the cooking water and the Knorr® Tomato Seasoning cube. Strain.
  • Heat the oil and sauté the sauce over medium-low heat for 10 minutes or until it is slightly thickened.
  • Cover the tortilla chips with the sauce and serve with cotija cheese; garnish with onion rings and fresh cilantro.
