Gourmet Surf and Turf Burger

  • 2 cups shrimp, small, raw
  • 1 tablespoon paprika, for the shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder, for the shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder, for the shrimp
  • 1 teaspoon pepper, for the shrimp
  • 1 tablespoon salt, for the shrimp
  • 2 tablespoons lime juice, for the shrimp
  • 1/2 cups Oli de Nutrioli® olive oil, for the shrimp
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese, low-fat, grated, for the shrimp
  • 1/2 cups bacon, fried, chopped, for the shrimp
  • 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • salt

  • 1/2 cups sparkling water
  • 1 cup onion rings, coarse cut, not too large (the size of the bun)
  • 1/2 cups flour, for breading
  • 1/4 cups Oli de Nutrioli® olive oil
  • 4 slices roast beef, cooked
  • Romaine lettuce
  • 4 pieces burger bun, slider type
  • 1 tomato
  • ketchup

  • In a bowl, mix the shrimp with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, pepper, salt, lemon juice, and Nutrioli® olive oil; let it rest for 10 minutes in the refrigerator.
  • Heat a skillet over medium heat and cook the shrimp for 3 minutes; add the cheddar cheese and fried bacon, cover, and cook for 3 more minutes. Set aside.
  • In a bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, and gradually add the sparkling water, whisking until you achieve a semi-thick texture.
  • In a bowl with flour, bread the onions, dip them in the batter, and fry in enough Nutrioli® olive oil for 5 minutes, making sure to heat the oil to medium temperature beforehand. Set aside.
  • Assemble the burger with the bun, shrimp, roast beef, lettuce, and tomato; dress with mayonnaise, ketchup, and mustard. Serve with guacamole, onion rings, and sweet potato fries.
