  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 tablespoons garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1/2 kilos ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoons Cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt
  • ground pepper
  • 1 cup tomato, mashed
  • 1 cup Red beans, canned
  • sour cream, for garnish
  • cheddar cheese, shredded, for garnish
  • tortilla chips, for garnish

  • Heat the olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add the onion, garlic, and tomato paste and cook for 2 minutes. When the onion changes color, add the ground beef and cook for 5 minutes or until ready.
  • Add the spices, chili powder, oregano, cumin, paprika, cayenne pepper, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix very well.
  • Incorporate the mashed tomatoes and beans. Cook on low heat for 25 minutes, stirring constantly, but without mashing the beans.
  • Serve the chili con carne and accompany with sour cream, cheese, and tortilla chips.
