Pastes with McCormick® Chicken Broth

Delicious homemade pastes that you will simply love. It is a traditional recipe from the state of Hidalgo in Mexico. By following this recipe, you will realize how easy it is to make them, being an ideal preparation for cooking with family, as you can have a lot of fun together. The McCormick® Chicken Broth adds a delightful flavor to the pastes.

  • 1 tablespoon granulated chicken broth Mccormick®
  • 100 grams green onion, finely chopped
  • 100 grams leek, finely chopped
  • 150 grams potato, cut into thin strips and passed through hot water
  • 250 grams beef tenderloin, cut into small cubes
  • 1 glass water
  • 50 grams parsley, finely chopped
  • 30 grams serrano chile, finely chopped
  • salt, to taste
  • Mccormick® ground black pepper, to taste
  • 500 grams flour
  • 1 teaspoon granulated chicken broth Mccormick®
  • 2 eggs
  • 150 grams lard
  • 250 milliliters beer

  • For the filling, fry the onion and leek until transparent; add the potatoes, meat, and cook until the meat is cooked through.
  • Mix the water with the McCormick® Chicken Broth, add it to the previous preparation, and cook until the broth is consumed. Incorporate the parsley, chiles, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  • Form a volcano with the flour and the McCormick® Chicken Broth. Place 1 egg, the lard, and a little beer in the center of the volcano.
  • Knead until integrated; if it is too dry, gradually add more beer.
  • On a floured table, roll out the dough and cut circles of 10 cm in diameter.
  • Place a little of the filling in the center of each circle, close them forming a border (in a zig-zag manner).
  • Brush with the remaining egg (previously beaten).
  • Place the pastes on a previously greased tray and bake at 180° C for 20 minutes or until golden brown.
