Authentic Mexican Pizza

This Mexican pizza recipe has the perfect blend of flavors, so it must not be missing from your table. The combination of pizza dough, beans, cheese, chorizo, and jalapeño peppers is simply irresistible.

  • 2 cups wheat flour, for the dough
  • 1 tablespoon salt, for the dough
  • 11 grams yeast, for the dough
  • 1/4 cups vegetable oil, for the dough
  • 3/4 cups water, warm, to help ferment the dough

  • 3 cups Oaxaca cheese, shredded
  • 2 cups chorizo, fried
  • 1/2 cups red onion
  • 1/2 cups Jalapeño chile

  • Preheat the oven to 180 °C.
  • For the dough: make a volcano with the flour on a flat, clean surface, create a well in the center of the flour, then gradually add the salt, yeast, oil, and water as the dough requires, this will help prevent it from being too wet or too dry, then mix with your hands until you obtain a smooth dough. Place the pizza dough in a previously greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it ferment for 30 minutes. Set aside.
  • Sprinkle flour on a flat surface and roll out the pizza dough using a rolling pin, until forming a disk 40 cm in diameter, then place the dough on a round baking tray. Spread the refried beans over the pizza, add the cheese, chorizo, onion, and jalapeño peppers. Bake for 20 minutes or until the dough is well-cooked. Set aside.
  • Cut the Mexican pizza with a pizza cutter or a knife and decorate with yellow corn kernels.
