Beef tacos in morita sauce

  • 4 tomatillos, for the sauce
  • 1 tomato , for the sauce

  • 3 morita chiles, for the sauce

  • coarse salt , for the sauce

  • 2 cups nopal, diced, precooked

  • Place the water, milk, pepper, onion, garlic, bay leaf, salt, and beef in a pot over medium heat. Cook for 2 hours or until the meat is tender. Set aside.
  • For the sauce: Roast the tomatoes, the red tomato, onion, garlic clove, and morita chili on a griddle until they start to color.
  • Blend the roasted ingredients with water, salt, and pepper until a sauce forms. Set aside.
  • Melt lard in a saucepan over medium heat, add the beef cut into medium cubes, brown for 5 minutes, and add the nopal and sauce. Cook the beef in the sauce for 5 more minutes or until the sauce reduces a little.
  • Serve the beef in morita sauce and accompany with refried beans and corn tortillas, don’t forget to pair with the delicious taste of Sidral Mundet® Apple Flavor.
