Itacates

  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cups onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cups button mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 cup Poblano chile strips
  • 1 cup tomato, finely chopped
  • salt

  • 1 cup Manchego cheese, shredded
  • 500 grams masa dough, for the dough
  • 1 tablespoon lard, for the dough
  • salt, for the dough
  • 1 Sidral Mundet® Strawberry-Kiwi Flavor, of 600 ml

  • In a skillet over medium heat, heat the vegetable oil. Add the garlic and onion and cook for 3 minutes or until the onion is transparent.
  • Add the mushrooms and strips and cook for 5 more minutes. When the strips are soft, add the tomato and cook until it releases its juice and is soft. Season with salt and pepper.
  • When all the ingredients are well cooked, add the cheese. Mix and cook until melted.
  • In a bowl, mix the corn dough with the lard and salt. Using your hands, form a triangle about 1 cm thick. Cook on a griddle over medium heat for 5 minutes on each side. Let cool and cut in half. Set aside.
  • Fill the itacate, add salsa, and enjoy with Sidral Mundet® strawberry-kiwi flavor.
