Traditional pambazos

A perfect example is the famous pambazo, which is made with bolillo, a chili sauce, potato, chorizo, cream, cheese, lettuce, and sauce, it’s finger-licking good!Did you know there are several types of pambazos? The one consumed in CDMX is usually filled with potato and chorizo, while the Veracruz pambazo is prepared with mayonnaise, beans, chorizo, chipotle chili, and lettuce.This street food classic is very easy to prepare, so we’ll tell you how to make them step by step, as they pair perfectly with a well-chilled Sidral Mundet® Apple flavor.

  • Blend the guajillo chili, morita chili, chicken broth, garlic, and onion until you obtain a smooth sauce. Strain and set aside.
  • Cook the chorizo in a skillet over medium heat and fry for 5 minutes or until golden brown, then add the onion and cook for 2 more minutes. Incorporate the potato, season with salt, and cook for 2 minutes. Set aside.
  • Cut the pambazo bread in half, add one or two tablespoons of the potato and chorizo filling, and place the top of the bread on.Pour the sauce into a bowl, dip the slices of bread, heat the lard in a skillet or griddle, and brown over medium heat on both sides until golden.
  • Serve the pambazo, decorate with lettuce, cream, cheese, and green sauce, and accompany with Sidral Mundet® Apple flavor.
